Né en 1969 à Wattrelos, dans le nord de la France, El Kado est issu d'une famille de musiciens d'origine algérienne.





Son parcours est atypique puisqu'il commence par une carrière de boxeur tout en étant barman pour subvenir à ses besoins, c'est un emploi en Camargue qui le mettra en contact avec la guitare et plus particulièrement le style flamenco pour lequel il se prend de passion au coté de Nicolas Bouquet (son patron) .





De façon à maîtriser au mieux l'aspect percussif, rythmique et mélodique de la guitare, il pratique huit heures par jour pendant plusieurs années, se perfectionne en prenant des cours de flamenco traditionnel avec Pedro (Pierre Tisseire) , un guitariste lillois, monte sa première formation en 1995 Los Bandoleros avec deux guitaristes flamenco rencontrés au même cours, puis une formation arabo-andalouse avec ses oncles.





En 1997-1998, il accompagne Mauricio, un soliste, à Londres. Cette expérience lui permet d'acquérir une rigueur rythmique puisqu'il travaille à une cadence assez soutenue : chaque représentation dure une heure et ce, sur une boîte à rythme réglée à 165 de tempo.





De retour à Lille il forme un duo avec Juan-Marco un guitariste latino, la collaboration est fructueuse : tous deux se produisent dans de nombreux bars de la région ce qui permet à El Kado d'élargir son public.





A partir de l'année 2000 il décide de se consacrer à ses compositions dans l'optique de sortir un album, Tourbillon, auto-produit conjointement par un soutien familial et en jouant rue de Béthune à Lille.

Phamie Gow, from Scotland, though currently based in Barcelona is described by Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC The Planet) as a 'young prodigy' has more talent than the rest of us put together! Singer, pianist, harpist (acoustic and electronic) , accordionist, whistle player, composer, producer. By the age of twenty seven, four C.D's under her belt, Winged Spirit, Lammermuir, Dancing Hands and Moments of Time, she has performed with the likes of Carlos Nùñez, Alasdair Fraser, Davy Spilane (Riverdance) , Eric Rigler (uillean pipes - Titanic, Braveheart) and the list doesn't stop there! Karen Matheson (Capercaillie) , Phil Cunningham, Pete Seeger, and many more. Phamie has also formed some beautiful collaborations with harpists around the world such as, Alan Stivell (France) , (Italy) , Bajaly Suso (Gambia, Africa) , Ravi (England) , William Jackson (Scotland) .



Winner of the 'Danny award' in Celtic Connections (1999) the 'prix de composition de la ville de Dinan' - composition award 2002 - France, and the Tap Water Award - 'best music act in the Fringe 2002' August 2002. She is currently on tour in Canada, and about to hit Broadway, New York with the fastest's dancer in the world James Devine. The show, named Tapeire is a funky celtic and original dance, music theatre production featuring celtic super star, fiddler Ashley MacIsaac and percussionist Paul Jennings. Awesome, wicked, funky, rythmic, exciting are words used to describe her performances (on the harp) . Forget about your preconceptions about the harp being for fairies! In her hands she is pushing forward the frontiers of this ancient instrument and is changing peoples perceptions about this instrument. Phamie is also performs on her Camac harp from France who made her unique multi - coloured electro harp, which is now called Madame Papillon (Mrs Butterfly) . Gone is the ball gown for this hip new harpist. Enter this contemporary virtuoso who takes your breath away with her skill, who is so at one with her instrument that audiences are transfixed, visually as well audibly. She looks quite spectacular as she engages with the instrument controlling a 'harp with attitude', her heels stamping out the beat consumed by the breakneck speed of some reel. Sometimes she is actually playing two melody lines at the same and others she is using the harp as a percussive instrument. She is truly breaking new ground. Gow can write 'a killer tune' wrote Rob Adams, The Herald, 'worthy of a Phil Cunningham or William Jackson master melodicists both'.



Whether she is playing in a session with Phil Cunningham or opening for giants such as a Kepa Junkera, or Seamus Heaney and Liam O' Flynne, Main Auditorium, Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow, Phamie Gow is at her happiest performing. Hailed as 'one of Scottish music's most exciting young talents' Sue Wilson, Sunday Herald, Phamie entertains with humour, interest and charm.



This disarmingly charming young musician/composer has been commissioned for film, dance and theatre companies, has given many workshops in festivals and conservatoires around Europe. Her piano compositions have been used in university studies and concert halls, and Phamie is a part time tutor for piano at the Royal Academy of Music and Drama, Glasgow where she graduated in 2001. One of Phamie's song was sung by the Young Traditional Musician of the year 2004, James Graham, and was featured on his his debut album, Suibhal. Phamie also conducts masterclasses and workshops on how to compose.



And .... a final string to her bow is the new sound of her ensemble, an energetic, dynamic and exciting set up. Phamie works with different musicians all the time to help keep the music always fresh. Just now she has a line up with double bass, drums, perscussion, guitar, and always there are musical guests and new collaborators. Some collaborations she has created were with Carlos Nùñez (Galicia in Spain) , Kepa Junkera (Bilbao in Spain) , Karine Polwart who sang Phamie's song, Goodbye to the sea and sailors, as featured on Phamie's latest album, Dancing Hands.



She has appeared on 12 different albums, and her first C.D 'Winged Spirit' (Wildfire Records) is a solo album which shows Phamie playing harp, piano, accordion, whistles, as well as singing. 'She demonstrates admirable creativity and originality' wrote Aibhlin McCrann and continuing. 'Phamie Gow in this multi - faceted recording has shown that she is a creative force worthy of our attention'.



Critics have described her second album 'Lammermuir' (Greentrax Recordings) as 'a masterpiece of Scottish music' (Willi Rodrian - Radio Lora. Germany) . Lammermuir is Catriona Black (Scotsman 'full of sparky originality and sends a tingle up your spine'Gaelic Music Column) . This was given a 5 star review from The Scotsman.



Her third self produced album, Dancing Hands demonstrates a new sound, and is very up-lifting, fresh, and accessible. Phamie chose to work with 8 different fantastic musicians such as Ricky Steele (double bass) , Tom Richardson (guitar) , Fraser Fifiled (soprano sax, whistle) , James Graham (Yound Tradtional Musician of the year 2004) , Mattie Foulds (drums) , Andy Webster (guitar) , Karine Polwart (voice) , and a Spanish percussionist, Javier Villar Morales. There is also a bonus track on the album which is a colloboration with DJ Daniel, and gives an example of another new project which is forming.



"Dancing Hands demonstrates Phamie's full breadth and depth of musicianship. Whilst her previous albums have been enjoyable, this one is outstanding - exciting music, with a lot of variety, yet rounded with a clear thread running through it. Phamie Gow has recently released her forth solo album and book, Moments of Time which is a piano solo album of her original hand penned works. In the meantime, she is changing the preconcept ideas of the harp, especially now with her multi coloured electro harp, Papillion! Phamie Gow is clearly entertaining us with her never-ending creativity and talents, and we can simply watch, and listen to this space!

Kaysha is the future of Afro-Caribbean music. He's the perfect blend between kizomba, rhumba, zouglou, zouk, calypso, r&b, hip-hop, etc… Since his first show in 1992, Kaysha have been constantly defining a sound of his own. And at the same time changing so much it made you get confused. But one thing never change, it's that Kaysha sound that's so appealing.





One of the most eclectic rapper and producer to work on places like the West indies, South America and Africa. He was born in Democratic Republic of Congo but immigrated to France with his parents at the age of seven. Kaysha is very well known for his first hit single which uses a sample from West Indian band Kassav's Oul� in a song called "Bounce Baby", which introduced him to fans all over the world.





The next year, he changed his whole style to record a more urban album called "Worldwidechico" with a duo with Wu Tang Clan's Killah Priest. His latest hit date is "On dit quoi" a huge hit all around Africa, from his latest album "It's all love" released in his own label Sushiraw.

Douk Saga est né d’une famille membre de la haute bourgeoisie, celle des Doukouré.

D'après lui, sa mère qui est aussi médecin est sortie avec le cousin de son papa qui est son père. Cet acte de sa mère n’a pas été du goût de ses grands parents et de son oncle. Sentant la réprimande venir, son père s’est enfui aux Etats-Unis où il réside aujourd’hui.

Sa mère aurait été mise en quarantaine dans la famille. Son éducation aurait alors été confiée à sa grand-mère, qui était la petite sœur de Houphouët Boigny, Mamie Djénéba Cissé. Elle n’a pas d’enfant biologique mais en a élevé d’autres. Et elle l’aurait pris avec elle, parce qu'il serait son fils légitime.



Si cette histoire parait rocambolesque, les véritables mélomanes s'en ficheront totalement. En effet, Douk Saga fait partie de ces artistes ivoiriens qui dominent la scène musicale africaine avec le style de l'heure: le Couper-Décaler. Associé à La Jet Set, groupe incluant des grands du genre comme Molare, Lino Versace, Douk Saga aligne hits sur hits, au plaisir de des nombreux fans en Afrique et ailleurs.
